OK folks, as you probably have all heard by now we have a hurricane coming our way!! Don't panic! The hurricane may hit land on Friday night and/or Saturday. As always with hurricanes this is subject to change. We are evacuating missionaries from Nags Head and the Outer Banks and other vulnerable coastal areas. We are going to do everything necessary to keep your missionary safe.
What an exciting life we lead here in Virginia!!!!!
All of our missionaries from North Carolina, including Albemarle, Ahoskie, the Outer Banks, Elizabeth City, Eastern Shore, Nags Head, Currituck and Sandbridge have already been evacuated this evening. Tomorrow we will evacuate all of the missionaries from Virginia Beach, Chesapeake and Newport News unless the hurricane changes course.
All missionaries have been asked to have extra water, and food and other emergency provisions with them. This is so-o-o exciting! What stories we will have to tell! Please be aware that if we loose power we may not be able to post on facebook or send E-mails for awhile. Don't panic. The Missionary Dept of the church has been in constant contact with us (they are really amazing) and they will get the word out if we can't.
They are standing by in case emergency supplies are needed. Frankly I'm thinking that we will get some good wind and rain here in Richmond but not too much damage as we are very much inland. In a few days I expect that our missionaries will be happily slogging around in their yellow T-shirts doing clean-up work. Until then we are battening down the hatches!!!
Love,
Sister Perry
